Nissan plant in Britain will start producing in 2012 Leafs

Enter ruleIt authentication has been known for a while now that Nissan is struggling with slow release of Leaves.All-electric vehicle demand is so high that Japanese makers have been forced to stop accepting new orders and concentrate on filling the existing oneHowever, the projected production figures indicate that the company would assemble only 10,000 units until March 31, 2011 while it has received 27,000 orders from U.S. , Japan and Europe. 

The remaining 17 000 orders are likely to be filled in the next fiscal year starting April 1, in which Nissan will reach maximum production capacity of 50,000 units in Oppama factory in Japan.

33,000 car can take more orders in the next fiscal year but not yet decided when to do it. According to Chief Operating Officer Toshiyuki Shiga , Nissan wanted to   "provide sufficient volume for the first lot of"  before giving the green light of new orders. 

One solution would be opening a new assembly line sooner than originally planned but Shiga rule out the possibility because of the fact that the work has just begun on the plant which will provide additional lithium-ion battery pack required.
