A journey to Palabuhanratu and Ujung Genteng are far enough indeed from Jakarta and surrounded areas, but you will enjoy the natural beauty and magnificent beaches.
If we hear the name of Sukabumi in West Java, our mindset is usually directly fixed to the small town of Palabuhanratu. A district -which is now the capital of Sukabumi regency- fulfilled with amazing landscapes and beautiful beaches. An area that is known for surfing and other water sports and most of people regarded its name to Pelabuhan Ratu, but the actual name is Palabuhanratu without splitting space.
Unfortunately, but sometimes people from Jakarta and surrounded areas who want to reach the area that combines the beauty of mountains and beaches, must think ten times. They have to take Bogor-Sukabumi routes through Ciawi that is well-known for its traffic murdered. Some people referred the routes to ‘Hell Path.” The road conditions are narrow and damages; huge gaping holes everywhere threaten drivers, especially two-wheeler riders. The road is always repaired, but soon the gaping holes reappear. There are so much traffic congestions spots and busy traffic which always passed by large trucks. The conditions made the roads chaotic and worst.
Normally, the travel time Bogor - Cibadak about an hour, but due to road conditions, travel time can reach 3-4 hours especially on holidays. Finally, people who live in Greater Jakarta and want to enjoy a holiday in tourism objects in Sukabumi should think again and again. Holiday should be a relaxation and they should relief from the fatigue, but apparently they have to confront traffic jams and dangers on the road. Alternative routes are available, but did not help.

Indeed, many who seek a way to go to / from Sukabumi chosed to past the Ciawi - Sukabumi road at night. But after all, the road stress is still exist. Traffic jams was gone, but gaping holes could be a threat because it could eroded the car suspension, and could cause collisions and even more worst could cause the two-wheel motorcycle riders upside down if they hit the hole. The threat of large trucks moving around the road should be anticipated. Well, ideally the narrow, jammed and super busy road connecting Bogor - Sukabumi must be substituted by a toll to increase numbers of visitors and it can stimulate economic growth and tourism in the region.
Your resentment when travelling Bogor – Sukabumi road will be disappear when you've reached the Cibadak. There are two road routes to Palabuhanratu. First, past the long lines Cibadak - Palabuhanratu through Ubrug and Pasapen; the second is through Cikidang village. I prefer Cikidang routes to the first one because offering beautiful scenery and the distance is shorter about 20km than the first route.

You will be greeted by Paths of Heaven in both routes which presenting a typical small rural road that serves different kinds of scenery from mountains, paddy fields, tea plantations, oil palm scenery to finally the beach that will make your heart relax.
So, what kinds of tourism objects you will enjoy in Palabuhanratu and surrounded areas?
PALABUHAN RATU AND SURROUNDED AREAS
Palabuhanratu beach
Palabuhanratu beach stretches nearly 24km from Loji in the Eastern of Palabuhanratu to West direction to Cibareno. But, the famous beach of Palabuhanratu is unfriendly to visitors because swimming is very dangerous along the beaches. A lot of death casualties drown and was dragged by strong currents in the area. I suggested you ask Life Guard which areas are safe for swimming.

If the visitors want to swim freely without fear of danger, I suggested you swimming at Cikembang and Cibangban beach, about 4kms from Cisolok village. You can swim much as you like. In addition, Cibangban and Cikembang offer stunning mountain scenery.

Fish market
Yyou can buy all kinds of fresh fish and sea food which is much cheaper price than if you eat it in Jakarta for example. Just so, you must dare to bargain the prices with the salesman. On top of the fish market, there is a fresh seafood restaurant.
